Alejandra is a Guatemalan and Costa Rican professional actress. In Guatemala, she studied in the National School of Dramatic Arts “Carlos Figueroa Juárez”. She also studied anthropology and philosophy at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala.
Alejandra has been invited to be a guest actess in the groups Rayuela Teatro, Kaji Toj, Oveja Negra, Lagartija Guatemala and Teatro Centro, among others. She has facilitated theatre workshops in rural areas, in marginalized urban areas, in institutions and in women’s groups who work in gender equality and women’s sexual and reproductive rights with theatre as a tool.

She is Coordinator of the Theatre Unit of the Director’s Office of the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Sports. Alejandra received a scholarship from the ASDI in the Central American Project EL CARROMATO in the area of acting, and was a participant in the First and Second Encuentro of Actors of Carromato in Guatemala and El Salvador. In addition, she is a producer in “Solo Teatro”.
Alejandra published her poetry “De vez en cuando hablo con ella”, (Once in a While I Spoke With Her) in Editorial Folio 14, July 2006 in Guatemala. For “Actriz Revelación” 2001, she was nominated as first actres s for the Arco Iris Maya Award 2002 and for “Mujeres Abridoras de Brecha” in 2002 by the women’s Mujeres Tierra Viva a non-governmental organization. She was an assistant in the Program for Citizen Participation of ALFORJA, the Center for Studies and Publications.
Today Alejandra forms part of the production team of the Arts Festival, and has also been an actress in “Libertad Figuras y Figurillas”, co-produced by the Theatre Groups “Punto Cero” and “50 al Sur," and also was an actress in ads for Cámera Films, . Likewise, she has been the voice and producer of radio spots for the University Radio and for the the Network of Citizen Monitoring, and also performed in radio dramas for the soap opera “Pueblo de Paso” by “Voces Nuestras”. She was the stage and sound manager for the Theatre Group “50 al Sur” for the Anne Frank series. Alejandra was in charge of ushers and volunteers for the International Arts Festival 2008 in Puntarenas, Alajuela and San José, Costa Rica.
She is a student of philosophy at the National University of Heredia in Costa Rica.
