The project Wings of the Butterfly joined WILPF (Women's International League for Peace & Freedom) in honoring the work of eight decades in defense of women’s rights, by Olga Bianchi. WOB declare3d her a butterflier, recognizing in Olga the commitment that she continues realizing not only through activism but in the training of young feminists in CR. The activity took place in the Quaker’s centro de amigos por la paz on March 6, with the participation of women’s rights, human rights and Quaker pacifists who have worked with her in the past and today.
Aileen Bolonos Ulloa, WILPF youth activist, who has learned from Olga, says about her: “She keeps me young. She has struggled throughout her eight decades for the vindication of women and against dictatorships. “
Katerina Anfossi has known Dona Olguita for the last 35 years when both came as Chilean exiles. Says Katerina, “She has made of Feminism an ideology that it is possible to live in daily life, resisting to accommodate in the face of adversity. Because she has made joy part of her activism.”
Yarman Jimenez, Costa Rica/Cuban feminist and member of WOB, said that she professes a constant activism, joyful optimism and perserverance”.
